I realised this morning that my baby boy is all now all grown up!!
This realisation came to me while I was listening to Steve asking Michael whether or not he could get himself to rugby training this afternoon as neither of us can take him. My boy will take the school bus back to the primary school as he always does and will then get a taxi to Safa Park for his training at 4.30 - I'll pick him up from training after work. I found myself smiling to myself as Michael proudly told his Dad that he'd packed his kit last night, had everything together and that he knew exactly where he needed to go!! He was so serious and so earnest!! Of course, there is always the chance that by 3.30 this afternoon he will have forgotten the conversation and will end up somewhere entirely different - but that's just Michael - bless him!!

Its getting cooler ...

FINALLY ... after what seems to have been a very long summer its starting to cool down!! According to my car, it was only 29 degrees C when I left for work this morning. That means its a good 10 degrees cooler than the same time last week!
The cooler weather means that we get to spend more time up at the Marine Club and, even if we don't take the boat out, the kids have a ball with their canoes and in the pool. Last weekend, Jem and I had fun in the pool trying out the new camera we splurged on!!
I love my Canon EOS 350D really wasn't enjoying dragging it to take to the Club. I was also always having to get it cleaned because the seawater is so salty here. Decided to stick with a Canon and bought the new Powershot D10 which is 100% waterproof - perfect for days on the boat!
Was really happy with the results and am looking forward to using it quite a bit - particularly when we go to Thailand for Christmas.
